Vintage Bicycle Party Lilly’s 9th Birthday

My sweet little girl turned 9 in October! Where has the time gone? Lilly wanted a Bicycle party this year with lots of glitter! So that is what she got:-) Originally it was suppose to be outside at a beautiful park location…. we live in Oklahoma and the wind changed that! We had to change to an indoor location only a few hours before the party!! Yikes is all that was going through my head, but it still turned out great. The kids were able to ride their bikes in the parking lot of Dynamo Gymnastics! Thank goodness for great friends allowing us to have the party there:-)

I hope you enjoy all of the party details and photos from Heather Renee Photography! Thank you so much Heather! The party is now available in the shop HERE! List of all the awesome Vendors at the end of this post!

Party-Serving-Table

I used two large 36inch balloons filled with confetti and hung with tissue tassel garland! The tissue tassel garland was easy to make! Here is the link with easy to follow HOW TO directions on HGTV! I used a one inch hole punch to make the confetti that I filled in the balloons, and on the tables throughout the party! When making a confetti balloon I learned that next time I need to fill the entire balloon un-inflated to get the look I wanted once inflated. I only filled about 1/4 on these balloons!

My best friend, Alyssa from BonBon Du Jour, made these STUNNING cookies!! She is so incredibly talented! I think they were the prettiest thing at Lilly’s party!

Rose-Cake

The cake was made by Paisley and Plaid and they did a fabulous job with the Ombre Ruffles!

Pink-bike-white-basket

I used my daughters doll bike that was purchased at Target for decoration! It is the Our Generations brand 18inch doll bike!

Keep-Calm-and-Ride-on

For the backdrop I used Coral Wrapping Paper I found at TJMaxx. I wrapped a foam board from the Dollar Tree with gold glitter wrapping paper and then added the poster from this printable package to the center!

Gold-Paper-Plates

Scavenger-Hunt

I purchased the “bike baskets” and the glitter pencils at the Dollar Tree!
The Dollar Tree is my favorite store when I am planning parties! The girls took the bike baskets with them on their bike ride! They had a blast doing the scavenger hunt on their bikes. The glitter pencils are from the dollar section at Michaels….another favorite place to look for all party decorations!

Cupcake-Wrappers

I always purchase cupcakes at Walmart and then deck them out! It saves money! The fondant bicycle toppers are from Harriets House Of Cakes! She does an excellent job and is really great to work with! The cupcake toppers and wrappers come in the bicycle party package.

Gold-Glitter-Serving-Tray

This cupcake stand was really easy to make and turned out adorable!! I purchased two unfinished wood circle platters from Hobby Lobby and used a candlestick holder I already had. I spray painted all three items with gold spray paint. Then I used a paint brush to paint on Modge Podge where I wanted the glitter. I sprinkled the glitter on the Modge Podge as I painted it on. I did not glue the stand together because that makes it more difficult to transport. I simply stacked the stand together to use during the party.

Gold-Bike-Serving-Tray

I found these bicycles at Michael’s clearanced out! They were all sorts of bright colors and I spray painted them gold! I used this one as a food stand by adding a gold paper plate and some yummy oreo pops!! My friend Lauren makes these delicious treats!! These bling pop sticks from Cake Pops By Jen added a glam touch!

Gold-Glitter-Mason-Jar

I LOVE using mason jars at parties! I spray painted several and glitter dipped some! To glitter dip I just painted with Modge Podge and then sprinkled on the glitter. I added babies breath in the jars and scattered throughout the party!

how many rolls of the chevron paper did you have to buy? did you use the runner on just that table? i am planning a gold glittler party for my daughter’s first birthday and i’m debating on using paper runners, but wasn’t sure how many to buy.

    thanks!

    one more question (:

did you use plastic tablecloths? i am going to assume no, but just wanted to see (:

    thanks!

    • Kara Woolery says

Hello Ashley! I taped it to the wall of windows behind! I usually do my wrapping paper or fabric taped or command striped to a wall if I can. If I don’t have a wall then I use foam board from Hobby Lobby and I attach the foam board to the table using large dowel rods and heavy duty tape.
