When my cousin and his wife asked me to do their sweet twins FIRST birthday I was very excited!! They wanted a Mickey and Minnie theme for their precious boy and girl, CJ and Abby! I would like to share a little bit of their story before I post all of the party details and pictures!
It took Stephanie and Troy a little while, and a lot of effort to get pregnant. Well, God didn’t just bless them with one sweet little baby, He blessed them with 3! They were pregnant with triplets, and during the pregnancy they lost their precious baby boy, Bryson. Who is now in heaven watching over his brother and sister! Sweet CJ was born with heart problems. He has undergone several heart surgeries, and just finished a surgery to help straighten his spine. He has a long road of surgeries ahead of him and I ask that you keep him and his family in your prayers.
Here are the Party Details, Photos, and Vendors! Photography by My Treasured Memories!
These smash cakes were made by my awesome cake lady, Jennifer. Cake decorating is something Jennifer does on the side just for fun:-)! If you live in the Oklahoma City area her email is included in the vendor list at the bottom!
One way I like to save money is by purchasing store bought cupcakes and dazzling them up. I made cupcake toppers using the party logos for half of the cupcakes, and edible mickey ears for the other half! The Mickey Ears were made from a Wilton Sugar Sheet purchased at Hobby Lobby (also available at Walmart or JoAnne’s). I used a one inch hole punch to make the circles, and then placed them in the cupcakes! Super easy and cute.
The Ore Pops are made by my friend Lauren. They are always a favorite treat at any party I host! If you live in the Oklahoma City area her email is below in the Vendors!
I used wrapping paper as a table runner and decoration throughout the party! I turned the chandelier into a party decoration by attaching Tissue Poms and Paper Lanterns with clear jewelry wire. Great tutorial for how to make tissue poms by Darling Doodle Designs.
The centerpiece was made using shape cut outs and party circles then attaching them to lollipop sticks!
I made Mickey and Minnie ears for the sweet party guest to wear and take home! I purchased the headbands from The Dollar Tree and cut out felt shapes to make the ears. For the Minnie Ears I added a tulle bow. I found this awesome tutorial from The Suburban Mom after I had already made them! Her tutorial makes them a little bit more of a perfect circle than mine, and is easy to follow!
The banners were made from cut out Mickey Mouse shapes then strung together using tulle.
The rice krispy treats on a stick were originally dipped in chocolate with some cute Mickey and Minnie sprinkles. They got left at home! So I made some new ones last minute! To make the dipped Rice Krispy treats you purchase the snack size individually wrapped packs. You push a paper straw in the middle and then dip half way to the top with melted chocolate. You can then add sprinkles or leave as it is!
I like to get different heights on the dessert table! So I wrapped some photo boxes with the wrapping paper that was used throughout the party!
These Oreo’s On a Stick were so easy to make and turned out great! You put a regular size double stuffed Oreo on a lollipop stick and then open up a mini Oreo and use as the ears!
I Love this precious family so much! Their strength and courage through all of their trials is inspiring!
