Sponsored and Affiliate Link Post – See Bottom For Details
FREE Printables Included in this post! This party concept is one of my ALL time favorites! A Book Exchange Reading Party! I have hosted one of these before a few years back as a Back To School Party. The goal is to get kids excited about reading! Every kid brings 5 books they no longer want, and they will go home with 5 new books. Exciting right?!?! You can learn how this works, and see the full set of party photos on The Land Of Nod Blog Post I wrote HERE!

This party is perfect for back to school, a play date, a book lovers birthday, middle of school blues, end of school summer bash, and more! You can also use the FREE Printables to set up a Reading Nook in your kids room or play room!
The READ banner is easy to assemble and a part of the FREE Printables you can download at the bottom of this post! You can learn how to make these construction paper book banners over on The Land Of Nod Blog Post! Both banners are also great for a reading nook set up in your house!
These plastic Milk Bottles from Hoopla Events are my favorite! I have used them for several parties! Add some Kool-Aid and you have an instant pop of rainbow color for your reading nook party!
These rainbow dot baking cups are also from Hoopla Events! My husband popped the popcorn for me then he added melted bakers chocolate and some sprinkles for a pop of color! The kids absolutely love the chocolate on popcorn!
Mary from Sugar Coma Cookies created these gorgeous and delicious sugar cookies! She ships too:-)! If you don’t want to go all out on custom cookies you can get the delicious frosted cookies from Wal-Mart!
Add the FREE and Editable Text Place Cards to a gable box for an instant lunch box or take home party favor!
I always start a party set up by using decor I already have in the house or garage! Then I purchase the pieces I need after. It helps to save a lot of money… You can usual re-purpose many household items for parties and entertaining! For this party I dug out all of the kids books to use as decoration, and added a few new Golden Books from The Land Of Nod.
The Land Of Nod Teepee made the PERFECT reading nook! The kids absolutely loved it! Use a Printable Sign, that comes with the FREE downloads below, to label the Teepee as a Reading Nook. Then use the FREE download Banner Pieces as flags for the Teepee poles. You can stop there or add a large balloon and a Honey Comb strand from Target to top if off! Use some pillows and blankets from around the house and you are good to go!
The kids had a blast reading their new books at the party! DON’T FORGET To go check out the FULL set of photos, ideas, and DIY’s over on The Land Of Nod Blog!
